Privacy Policy - GMC Feed Fixer

GMC Feed Fixer ("the App") is operated by MCSITlab ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our Shopify application.

Information We Access

When you install GMC Feed Fixer, we request access to the following data from your Shopify store:

  • Product data — titles, descriptions, images, barcodes/GTINs, prices, and variants. This is used solely to scan your products against Google Merchant Center requirements and display results to you.

  • Store information — your shop domain and basic store details, used for authentication and session management.

We do not access customer data, order data, payment information, or any other store data beyond product and store information.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we access to:

  • Scan your products and identify Google Merchant Center compliance issues

  • Display feed health reports and issue lists within the app

  • Apply fixes to your product data (titles, descriptions) when you explicitly approve them

  • Generate AI-powered product descriptions using the Anthropic Claude API (product title is sent to the API; no other store data is transmitted)

Data Storage

GMC Feed Fixer does not permanently store your product data. Product information is fetched from Shopify in real time when you use the app and is not retained on our servers after your session ends.

We store only the Shopify session token required for authentication, as required by Shopify's app authentication system. This is stored securely and used only to authenticate your requests.

Third-Party Services

GMC Feed Fixer uses the following third-party services:

  • Shopify — for authentication, billing, and app hosting. Shopify's privacy policy applies to data processed through their platform.

  • Anthropic Claude API — used to generate product descriptions. When you use the AI description feature, the product title is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a description. No other product or store data is transmitted. Anthropic's privacy policy governs this processing.

  • Cloudflare — used for tunnel/proxy during development. Production hosting uses standard cloud infrastructure.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your store data to third parties. We do not share your data with any third parties except as described in Section 4 above (Shopify and Anthropic, solely for the purpose of operating the app's features).

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect the data we access, including encrypted communications (HTTPS) and secure session token storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You may uninstall GMC Feed Fixer from your Shopify store at any time. Upon uninstallation, we delete your session data from our systems within 48 hours. If you have any questions about data we hold, contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
